Peace

Are You Taking Jesus With You?

35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” 36 And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” 41 And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

Mark 4:35-41
This past Sunday we read and heard about the power in the presence of Jesus and the peace only He can provide!
"they took him with them" stuck out to me from this account.
Do we take Jesus with us and if we do, why do we forget what He is capable of?

Jesus is not just for our Sunday morning worship experience. He wants to live in our hearts and minds. Everyday, Everywhere, with Everyone. We keep Jesus in a confined, useless space if we only see Him on Sunday mornings.

How do we spend time with Him during the week? I don't mean just lifting up grace before our lunch or reading the daily verse notification on your phone. We have the full availability of the King! When the veil of the temple was torn, Jesus was showing us that we can come to Him anytime with anything!
Sure, you keep your bible in your car or truck, but are you opening more than just on Sunday? Are you taking Him with you into work on Monday morning? Is he involved in your conversations? Does your Facebook scrolling get more time than His Word? Can your neighbors see Him in your attitude, words, and actions?

If we are taking Him with us everywhere, let's not forget the power He has, which is all of it and more! From calming the chaos in your life to working a miracle by praying in His name. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is everything! Have great faith in His presence.

It's by the Holy Spirit we take Jesus with us. The comforter and strength by which we can live everyday without hesitations. Just as Jesus already told the disciples they would be going to the other side, Jesus has a purpose for you laid out. Go to Him in prayer and spend time with Him to experience peace in His presence.
